Old footbridge, deck boards laid ACROSS the span (perpendicular to the direction of travel), fifteen paces end to end, deck wide enough for one person, roughly two paces wide, supported by four pairs of round vertical timber pilings driven into the riverbed, waist-high handrails of thick branch-like beams along both sides standing two heads above the hip-deep dark river water, both ends resting on low damp earth riverbanks two steps above the waterline, a worn dirt footpath running directly onto the wooden deck at each end without steps. Constructed from dark oak greyed and rotted by weather, saturated with moisture, with green river moss along the waterline.
